I like this Bushnell ELETE to go on my Ruger I bought last night It's a med. priced pistol scope

 OK..so I'm no GUNAHOLIC. I shoot clay and trap. sometimes target. But am I wrong in assuming that a PISTOL is a "point and shoot" and not a " I'll put a bead on his ass and then pop a cap" kinda weapon?
Just asking. Being EX-Military, I never saw the need or TIME to "scope" a pistol. Educate me here please.

A shot gun it's just point,but pistols and rifles you want the best aiming point you can get,open sites most like for a defence pistol

 That will make a nice set-up I suspect. I hope your hand is steadier than mine these days! I might get in the X-ring but it could be the next target over!
