rebooting again

Playing on the pc today ,for some unknown reason it locked up All I could was reboot and everything was great again Does your pc just locks up and you can't figure it out

 My Norton Anti-Virus got corrupted this morning when a power surge went through just as Norton was updating... It then had to update 107 MBS which on dial-up took most of the morning to complete...xoxo david

 As you will probably remember, out here in my swamp,
we operate off a satellite, and for the past 10 days to
2 weeks we have had an awful time getting a signal.

Have to completely unplug the system from the wall outlet,
let it do its thing to reset when plugged back in, have
had to do it as many as 3 times lately in succession to
get it to come back up. Could not even get on internet or
anything, like it was totally dead.

Ok,,,I use AVG free version,But this Verizon wireless is as slow as dialup
