Just a Waste of Money
OKAY...I KNOW I'M IN THE MINORITY

Here it is straight out...

I think all the money spent each 4th of July on fireworks all across this country could be spent on much better things...like filling in the potholes for example in our highways that seem to be falling apart!

I hate noise. Not that you're going to pay any attention to my complaint.

I hate the big waste of money spent on fireworks on the 4th of July.

Just once I'd like to read somewhere, or see on TV, the exact cost of all the multiple fireworks celebrations spread across this country in every city large and small.

It would also be interesting to know how many fires were started by explosives, how many injuries were sustained, how many animals, especially dogs, were terrified by the noise and ended up running into traffic and getting killed or injured.

I know most of you have a different mind set. I'd be a hypocrite if I lied to you and said, "Oh, fireworks are just the most beautiful thing in this world next to a pretty nude pudenda... I think spending millions of dollars to put pretty exploding lights in the sky for a few minutes each 4th of July is ridiculous..

When I lived in Malibu, I used to go to Venice, Calif. and watch when they had big shows of fireworks shot out over the Pacific. ...Those shows must have cost millions of dollars because they lit up the entire beach front for over an hour of repeating explosions.

I fired so many different weapons in the Infantry, and heard and saw so many explosions that I guess I just got filled up with it all..
