LAND OF THE FREE AND HOME OF THE BRAVE ???

Happy FOURTH OF JULY my friends and a few readers..

ARE we still all the things we once were as a nation?

Probably not. But...THAT doesn't necessarily make us a worst place to live or give our loyalty to.

We need to compare ourselves to other nations around this ever growing smaller world in order to find our place in the freedom and brave lineup.

The population of this world has grown to well over 7 billion people. The population of the U.S. is now over 300 million. In my state, California, the population is over 40 million.

Technology is sprouting from every place in the civilized world. With this growth of ever more people, expanding technological means of communicating everywhere in the world instantly-- and an epic battle between religions shaping up-- it's problematic where a person or a family can live in order to be left alone and simply live out their lives in peace and quiet.

Our borders. The borders of the U.S., are being flooded now by the HAVE NOT people all over Latin America. Should we just shoot these people to keep them from invading us? How many more millions of these poor people who are simply searching for a better life, can our nation hold without going into total chaos and cultural warfare within our own borders? How many people can a lifeboat hold without capsizing and drowning everyone?

It's very simplistic to blame President Obama for this current flood of homeless . This problem has been building along our Southern border for generations. Now, as the conditions in most of the Latin nations become worse, and people learn more and more about the advantages we in the U.S. have as citizens, the pressure on the border becomes impossible to restrain.

I have no simple solutions, do you?

Perhaps some military laboratory could invent a spray form of birth control that could be sprayed over vast areas of Africa and South America where poverty is at its worst, to keep impoverished people from bringing even more into this world to die of hunger and disease? But.. I think this would only give the religions of this world more reason to hate us, don't you?

Yes, I know Haey. I'm a transplant to California too. When I came here in 1959, the population was less than half of what it is now, and more people pour in every day. Once you get used to this beautiful warm climate, it's almost impossible to live anywhere else. I would hate going back to Connecticut and having to live in that miserable climate again.
