I am bound
in this less
than earthly grace.
This life
tethers
my soul.
I am bound.
Stealing
of beauty,
memories of sand.
Collecting of thoughts,
rolling on the shore.
I am bound
in the earthly grace.

Some prisons are without bars
they are in our mind
We build up the walls
that no one can climb
blocking out the light.
there are no bars on the windows
but freedom?
it is not possible
in this place.
These are the stones
that burden the heart.
That close out the light.
Only tiny bits of sun
reach through.
The rays tempt
the soul.
Glimmering bits of warmth
reaching deep in.
I fear this release
and put up another stone.
