Do you have too much time on your hands?


Is everyone here? Bueller, Bueller, Bueller?

I was just watching a show on ESPN called "Around the Horn." And that is when I heard it. Someone actually took the time to figure out that exact day that Ferris Bueller took a day off.

And get this most of it is related to the baseball game he went too. You see the game was at Wrigley Field (Which I would love to see someday by the way). The Cubs were hosting the Braves.

Lee Smith was pitching for the Cubs. He faced them 4 times in at Wrigley in 1985 but not once in 1986 (the year that the film was released). Using this and a few other references from the movie he figured out that the Ferris Bueller skipped out on June 5, 1985.

This got me thinking back to my school days. And this may or may not surprise you but I did skip out on school once. Yep only once. For a half day. After second hour (we had a 4 period day) me and my friend skipped out on senior ditch day. We went to his dads place, watch a movie raided the fridge. Then went back for theater practice. Yeah I was a total geek, I went back after skipping out on the half day.

So did you ever skip school? Did you do anything that you can talk about here?

 Oh my, this brings back lots of memories, but the very first time I skipped school, I was in 7th grade, and skipped Home Ec by hiding out the bathroom the whole time...terrified!
When the bell rang I walked out of the bathroom only to see...my Home Ec teacher! Busted!!

Too funny!! Thanks for the walk down memory lane...

Yeah I skipped school a few times in my day...mostly by feigning illness, much like Ferris! I am a good actress

I started skipping in third or fourth grade No lie!!! I got arrested in Germany when I was 7. My bestie and I were skipping school and we got busted for trying to derail trains.
The most important thing you can wear is the expression on your face!

 In high school we had open campus for lunch my freshman & sophomore year. A lot of kids would leave campus for lunch & not come back. I never really left at lunch time though. I would skip random classes where I didn't like the teacher.

But here is the kind of sad part. I never went anywhere fun. I would usually hike over to the library by downtown or there was a church just up the street from the school. Their little chapel stayed open all the time. I would just walk down there & sit for an hour, then go back for my next class.

 I ditched first period occasionally but they never counted it as a skip just late.. I had a stupid class so I dreaded going in early for it !!
I never did anything worth writing about, my wild days came later

So you went back to school after you ditched?? See, I knew it.... you are a GOOD guy!!!

I never ditched but I will have to share that with you privately the reason why...but those who did went to beach and partied all day~

Never claimed not to be a good guy. And there is nothing wrong with not ditching. I only ever did that once, and I that was only because I had good enough grades that I new that half day wouldn't hurt them.
