 Some people just don't think that their lives are interesting enough, or want to impress you.

My dad always told me.."If you always tell the truth, you never have to remember what you said." words that I live by.

One never wants to have the reputation as being untruthful, white lies, excepted to save someone's feelings.

 Yes, some people just have to exaggerate, or worse. I had a friend when i was in the Army -- nothing he said could have been true, but since it didn't matter we just went along with him. Was entertaining! But also, in the big picture, harmless.

In other situatins, it might not be harmless.
