The TATTLER: Backyard Fence & Crossroads

. . . . . . . . . . AFriendFinder TATTLER
. . . . . . . . Backyard Fence & Crossroads

As the new marketing manager at the virtual newspaper of BlogLand, I’m still learning the ropes. Although The Tattler is still a relatively new organization, it already has an interesting history. The Publisher is known throughout BlogLand not just for his quick wit, but also for his political connections to the Deputy Mayor of Blogville and others. But those on the newspaper staff also know he’s a bit old-fashioned: extracting special favors from the female editors and reporters. On any other website that might be frowned upon, but here it is celebrated.

Then, there is the illustrious Editor and Chief Investigative Reporter who not only holds down a high position in the government of Blogville (no conflicts of interest in this virtual world) but she also has been incarcerated for many weeks. (And her incarceration has raised no eyebrows among her constituents in Blogville! Virtual life really is different!) How she edits the paper is a mystery, although the trading of favors for modem time has been mentioned. Is she in jail conducting an investigative report or just to commiserate with the cute guards? Well, few are asking, and some wonder, does it matter?

Some of the top bloggers have moved in and out of the newsroom and offices of The Tattler at one time or another. For a time, [blog sexyfitwoman] had a health and lifestyles column. JF provided the publication not just with film reviews but also twisted horoscopes. Even Atlanta’s greeneyes drummed up support for the newspaper as finance director.

More recently, Amber has come aboard to handle advertising. Starlight-runner took up the difficult job of putting out a special evening edition of the paper and added her own expertise to the investigative reporting staff. Even [blog dz2502] pitched in as the new star reporter.

The Tattler is an interesting place to work. The small but dedicated staff bursts with talent and takes on the task of reporting with aplomb amidst ramshackle conditions. No wonder the paper is affectionately known among the staff as The Tatter and sometimes there are primal scream therapy sessions in the lunchroom just to take the edge off.

>>>[blog dz2502]... my humble apologies. This just shows what a good reporter you are: a stickler for accuracy. I admit, I did not know there was an entire storeroom of additional back issues until you made your comment and I went asking around. That's what it is like being the new guy... continually lost. But it appears now, with a bit of straightening the archive is a bit more organized and the original post has been re-edited for accuracy.

But I also have more apologies to send out. It appears I missed entire Tattler careers by some: [blog txrose4uNTX], WyvernRose, [blog expatbrit49], and [blog mzhunyhole], who was too polite to mention my oversight and gaffe.

I just hope The Publisher doesn't put me on double-secret probation. As one of the veterans around here Greeneyes-Atl, maybe you can put a good word in with him for me. (Thanks for the compliment!)

Oh, and as for the subscription campaign (gulp! more work!) I’m waiting to get the free subscription numbers up before launching that...look at the poor numbers for the recent posts and you’ll get my point.

>>>Wyvern Rose,,,and thank you for dropping by these parts. At least I got it right eventually. And by the way... great new profile shot... very sexy. I certainly like it.

>>>[blog dz2502]... a proper indoctrination? Well certainly not anything like what starlight runner went through as described in the entry, [post 51465].

And as for taking up rock criticism for The Tattler as you mentioned in [post 79924]... well... The Publisher isn’t paying me to do two jobs. Of course, if he’d like to acquire my little rock ‘n roll column, he’s welcome to make a bid. I’m a reasonable guy.

This article goes beyond merely providing a history of our beloved TATTLER. It has maintained chronological order. The chronological order of things should be highly valued, yet it remains unimportant to most.

Plan on staying late after the next staff meeting. We are going to celebrate. Hmm, or was that before? Yeah, that's it we will celebrate before the meeting and then celebrate some more afterward. Dang, now I'm confused. I hope the chronological order has not been comprimised...

Dear Publisher...We shall not compromise! We will celebrate before and after!

And as you realize, in a blog, there may not be a before and after as we know it, except in the order of the responses here. For instance, someone (as you have done in the past) can start or renew a discussion in the backpages of a blog that may be even more lively than what is in the most current posting. The same goes for The Tattler. All these posts still have a life, as long as they are remembered, linked, and visited.
