The Rescue dog
The Rescue dog 2010 I think it was... My old room mate was doing the rescue volunteering thing. She would bring the rescued pups home and let them interact with humans to groom them to get adopted. Then in a couple weeks, they would be seen on the website. Then adoption! Dooley was found in a dumpster and was nursed to health before being brought home to groom him. He was a pitbull and black lab. I remember telling my room mate, YOU take care of the pups, im just an observer. But one day he kind of begged for me to pick him up from the makeshift kennel and he would stop whimpering for the time being. I think that's where I started to get attached. Then I would start picking him up and sitting him in my lap while the Chicago Bears played. Or take him out of the kennel and let him run around while I did dishes. Or taking him with me when I go to the gas station. After 2 months, there was no interest from anyone from the website to adopt Dooley. And in the 2 months, the room mate got really attached to him. I could feel what was going to happen before it happened. And it did. So after the TEARS from the room mate, I agreed to us adopting Dooley. Dooley got along with the Dante, the service dog, as from the occasional testing of dominance. As Dooley got older, as well as the service dog;. It became clear that when the service was retired, Dooley could take his place. And so he did. So when it was time for the room mate to move to Baltimore,.Dooley went with. So I guess Im missing Dooley and glad he got the opportunity to live a full life, and not a short one had he not been found from that dumpster. ~Linc was here.~ |
