What's your style?

I'm watching some morning show. It's 2 women discussing fashion. One "fashion faux pas" I guess is that "older women wear clothing that's age-inappropriate" and ... basically, if you're older, wear "older" clothing. not dowdy or frumpy, but "age appropriate". Don't dress like you're chasing lost youth. And "if you're wearing the same jeans as your 14 year old, you've got a problem".

What are your opinions on this??

Quite frankly, I was very offended hearing this. First, if you're old enough to have a 14 year old and you CAN wear the same jeans (size wise).... it's a very good thing!!

And if they meant style only (not size)... I feel you should wear what you like, what you're comfortable in, what looks good on you. Who bloody cares what "fashion" is, or what "age-appropriate" is.

But then maybe I'm just wierd
I love blue jeans, tshirts. flannel shirts. ankle/floor length skirts. Lace. Leather. Ethnic clothes. Peasant blouses. And I love pockets. No idea why. Carpenter jeans. Fishing vest. Even found a pair of panties with pockets had to buy them cuz they were just too cool.

I'll surely never win a fashion contest But i'm happy. Though I have received positive responses numerous times.

Oh: and I'm not really "watching" the show. I'm actually watching Monty Python and the Holy Grail Just had to stop it for a minute, thereby catching the show.

I dress in clothes that make me comfortable.... blue jeans and T-shirts, or polos... I don't really think about how old or young it makes me look. Of course when I am going out for a night on the town... I dress up and try and look my casual... but best.

Happy Birthday, DSK.

I don't pay any attention to the rules of style. I judge a woman's clothes by how much fun I think I would have getting her out of them.

If you look good, and feel good, wear it. Anything less is a faux pus!

i wear what makes me feel comfortable i think dressing to meet a sterotype is bad, we are suppossed to be living in a land of free choice but ever notice how many people are trying to force everyone into what they think is appropraite
*hugs and giggles*

I say that most fashions for the younger folk are strange anyway but you should always wear what you like. Don't say "ni" to those who have a problem with it though... that would just be strange if you're not a Briton without a shrubbery
