or feel your breath whisper against my ear.

The beauty of your skin against mine, pale

or teasing you awake in yours.

Crumbs.
Crumbs of what was. Or what I thought there was.
Never again, your eyes glowing with love
(or what would be love on any other man!)
as you gaze at me in candle-light, and reverentially whisper
"You are so beautiful!"

Never again to kiss the soft skin beside your eyes,
my fingers buried in your hair.
The feel of your furry chest against my cheek,
your heart beating beneath my ear.
Never to taste your skin, inhale your scent
Never again, my body rising to yours.

The fantasies are going dark,
those lights turning off inside my heart, one by one.
Only one light remains. I fear the dark.

 It was written for/about my ex. I believe I did send it to him. And I hid it on my blog almost immediately. It was too deep, too personal to me, too private.

Maybe I should start writing poems more often lol... instead of refusing until they are ripped out of my bleeding heart. I used to write happy and silly poems too.
