Lost

I'm adding "GPS" to my official wish list.

I've wanted one for years so I could get into geocaching and letterboxing. Though now? I just need it so I can stop being lost.

It's rather odd though. Throw me in a foreign city: I can figure it out and find my way around. But I get lost in my own backyard.

Throw me on Day Mt Spokane Road going back to Spokane Valley... 80% of the time I wind up lost in Green Bluff... caught in an endless loop (or series of loops). Sometimes I'm lucky enough to find my way out. Today I had to call for help.

I actually got lost TWICE today... returning home from Chattaroy WA. The sad thing is, I didn't get lost GOING there, despite having never been before. It was the coming home again that got me. For instance, who knew there would be a Denison Rd, a Chattaroy Rd... and right between the two, a (surprise) Denison-Chattaroy Rd. What's up with that? So I grabbed the Denison Rd, thinking it was the same as Denison-Chattaroy. When it turned into a dirt road... I called for help. Apparently my dad has taken that road by mistake before too, but he said just turn around and go back.

Then I was fine until I hit Day Mt. Spokane Road....

All I can say now is, "There's no place like home!"

Anybody else good at getting lost? Or if you're best at always knowing where you are: will you be my new best friend? lol.

I don't have much trouble finding my way .. even in foreign places.

Sounds like you need to install a bread crumb spreader behind your car to leave a trail you can use to find your way back home.

Handeye: Wanna go driving together sometime? Surely between the two of us we could get un-lost... or at least have quite an adventure until one of us breaks down and asks for directions lol.

AB: I just love that image... modern-day updated fairy-tale. (I can't for the life of me remember which fairy tale has the bread crumbs! And I'm too lazy to go look. I own the Complete Brothers Grimm and a few others besides)

Keith: At least you always find your way back

HonestJohn: LOL... how convenient So when you suddenly get gas back in the tank, do you blame it on helpful aliens??

nightiis: Hi Well: that was my problem. I probably would have just continued following the road as it was going vaguely in the correct direction...though dad told me he thinks it dumps you out somewhere totally unexpected. And since I was already tired and it was starting to get dark... I just wanted HOME. Maybe someday I'll go drive that road just to see where I end up.

KMA5: well, hubby wanna play little red riding hood?? I even have a red cloak... (Sigh... now I'm going to have red riding hood fantasies)

kalimatadasa: Thanks Though I think I've been walking around in circles the last little while. I'm about to just break the rules and pull out a chain saw and cut through a few bushes/walls and get to somewhere else lol.

I'll save you the trouble of looking. It was Hansel and Gretel.

AB: Thanks The really sad thing is that I bet those would be some of the easiest books to find in my apartment, had I bothered to look.
