Comic Book Closet
Comic Book Closet I'm a nerd. I admit it, a big comic book nerd. I've been so excited all week cause me and 4-5 buddies from high school are headed up to Philly for the weekened to take in the WizardWorld Comic Convention. They're all straight so it's not gonna be "that kind" of weekend, but it should still be fun. We're even gonna take in X3 while we're up there. Wooh. Got that off my chest. It's funny. It seems so much easier to tell people I'm gay than that I still read comic books (I do read other stuff too.) Luckily, I don't look like the Comic Book Store guy on the Simpsons so I guess that means that "I can pass." BTW- If you're in Philly and wanna hang out this weekend, drop me a line. |

I had a huge Marvel comic book as a kid and sold them when I went in the service. Had to, they would have rotted away in the heat and humidity in the storage shed while I was in training. Made me sick to get rid of them. I didn't know it at the time but if I could have sold my more than 2000 comics individually, they were worth over $3000. As it was, I thought I was lucky to get $200 for the collection. I did keep a handful of Silver Surfer comics and a few others. Still have a 1953 Classics Illustrated edition of "William Tell" as well. I finally got an annual digital subscription to the Marvel Comics web site so I can read all those I missed out on since the early 80's. I guess that makes me a big nerd--love comics, scifi, fantasy and computers!
